Local groups and schools’ gardening scheme
Make your local community green with friends and neighbours in this non-competitive programme from the Royal Horticultural Society

Description
Calling all green-fingered schools and community groups! The Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ community gardening scheme is now open for entries! Coordinated locally by Northampton Town Council, the scheme is part of the East Midlands in Bloom competition, and encourages communities to brighten up existing communal gardens, school planting projects and neglected public spaces. Groups who take part will receive an annual visit from an RHS assessor, support from experienced mentors and membership to a nationwide community gardening network.
Dates and times
This is a recurring activity.
Local groups and schools who wish to take part in the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood Scheme’ must enter before the end of May; judging will take place between June and August.
Cost
Entry to the competition is free, and small start-up grants available to support projects.
