Northants Litter Wombles
A litter-picking and campaigning group, led by the community, who want to help eradicate litter from the area.
Description
The Wombles aim to eradicate litter in Northamptonshire through raising awareness, campaigning, and supporting local people to get litter picking! It's easy to get started, and anybody can join in. Visit the Wombles website to get in touch and find an upcoming litter-picking session.
Dates and times
This is a recurring activity.
There are organised group picks taking places at different dates and times, or you can self-organise (on your own or with others) whenever suits you. Check the Wombles website to see when group litter picks are taking place – there’s no need to book, just turn up!
Cost
This activity is free to attend, but you’ll need some equipment to get started:
- A sturdy litter picker from ‘Helping Hands’ or Amazon
- A hoop to keep the bag open when windy
- Waterproof gloves, sturdy shoes and warm clothes.
Refuse bags can be obtained from a Northants Litter Wombles distributor if you need them, as well as a Wombles high-visibility jacket. Although joining the group is free, a donation towards the jackets is welcome.
