Semilong Community Garden initiative

Semilong Community Garden initiative

Join Green Spaces Semilong and help build a community garden.

Description

Green Spaces Semilong is a community initiative, formed by residents in response to the fly tipping and deterioration of Semilong. Volunteers are building a community garden next to the basketball courts at the end of Semilong Road (in front of a little park). The land was an empty space, filled with litter, the walls covered in graffitied. Volunteers have worked hard to transform the space: litter picking, digging a path, creating lanterns, painting, and planting.

The garden will be split into eight themed section, divided by arches. Semilong Green Spaces aims to implement a vibrant, sustainable, sensory urban garden, strengthening the wellbeing of the community, provide a safe nurturing space and increasing wildlife. Semilong Green Spaces will:
