Northampton Old Scouts rugby

A friendly community rugby club with training sessions for adults and children.

A friendly community rugby club established in 1926, with a thriving ‘Minis’ and ‘Juniors’ section along with adult teams. The club has produced three British and Irish players.

Cost

Match fees are varied dependent on age group. The club also runs a limited hardship fund to ensure no one misses out. People interested in joining can make contact with the club personnel and coaches via the Old Scouts website at the link below.

Dates and times

There are variety of sessions to choose from, taking place on different days:

  • Adult training sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings; matches are generally on a Saturday.
  • Some ‘Mini’ and ‘Junior’ age groups train on a Wednesday evening, others train on Sunday mornings. These matches are generally played on a Sunday.
  • The Scouts have also introduced ladies’ training sessions (both touch rugby and contact rugby) on Monday evenings.

Parking

There is lots of off road parking available, and a spacious clubhouse that everyone is welcome to use. This can be hired for events, with a reduced rate for members.
