Delapré Abbey offers a beautiful historic house and public gardens for everyone to enjoy at all times of the year. Adjoining the gardens is Delapre Park – 500 acres of parkland, woodland, and open grassland. Nearby, you’ll also find Delapre Lake, a haven for wildlife and water-based leisure activities – as well as lakeside paths for people who enjoy walking.
Tickets are not needed to enter the grounds, explore the park, or visit the lake. Access to the Abbey is ticketed, priced at £8 (with or without gift aid) for adults, and free for under 18s. For Angling enquiries, please contact Jamie Cooper (Fishery Manager) on 07884260667.
The lake and park are open year-round. The House is open for general admission on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays, and Bank Holiday Mondays between 11.00 am – 4.00 pm (last entry 3.00 pm). The Orangery Cafe and public toilets are open from 9.30 am – 4.00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Free car parking is available for visitors (as well as over-flow capacity for large events) with priority disabled parking for blue badge holders. Bike racks are provided outside the Common Ground Cafe.
The Walled Garden and external paths around the Abbey are accessible, but the wider parkland includes some uneven surfaces and unofficial pathways that are not available for all.
Public toilets are open from 9.30 am – 4.00 pm, Monday to Sunday. These toilets are located in the Orangery Cafe and 18th Century Courtyard. If you’re exploring the lake, these are about 600m away.
Seating is available inside The Orangery Cafe, 18th Century Courtyard, on the South Lawn, and throughout the park. If you’re exploring the lake, a bench is available at the end of the Charterwood walk.
External lighting is in place for all key routes around the Abbey, but does not include the lake.

Community groups can't always control where activities take place, so focus on the local environment and we'll share feedback with landowners.
